Building a Better Kampala!! KCCA Inspects Road Projects to Ensure Progress
Earlier this week, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), through its engineering and infrastructure teams, led a special on-the-spot tour of major roadworks happening across the city. The team visited key areas currently under construction, including Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road, Salaama Road, as well as 8th, 7th, and 5th Streets. These works are part of the ongoing Kampala City Roads Rehabilitation Project (KCRRP), a major initiative aimed at improving road networks in the city.
The purpose of the tour was to carry out a routine inspection and ensure that the ongoing works meet the required standards of quality and safety. KCCA officials also checked whether contractors were keeping up with the set timelines and whether the work done so far aligns with the overall goals of the project. These regular inspections are important because they help catch any problems early and ensure that taxpayers get value for their money.
Residents in the affected areas have been hopeful that these improvements will reduce traffic jams, flooding, and road accidents. Once completed, the roads will be smoother, better drained, and safer for all road users including drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
The Kampala City Roads Rehabilitation Project is part of the city’s bigger plan to create a modern and efficient road system. By checking progress on the ground, KCCA continues to show commitment to building a cleaner, safer, and more organized city — #ForABetterCity.
