Breaking News!! Police Officer Shoots Colleague Dead Over Shs.100, 000 Debt

A shocking tragedy has rocked the Naguru Police Barracks, where a police officer was shot dead by a colleague following a dispute over a 100,000 Ugandan shillings debt roughly the equivalent of $26 USD. The incident occurred inside Block D of the barracks, commonly referred to as “John Kisembo’s Block.”

The murdered officer has been identified as Muhangi Arthur, a member of the Counter-Terrorism (CT) Tourism Unit and reportedly part of the 22nd police intake. According to eyewitnesses and preliminary reports, the two officers were roommates. Their disagreement over the unpaid debt escalated into a violent confrontation that turned deadly.

In a fit of rage, the killer officer, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, allegedly drew his firearm and shot Arthur at close range. The suspect then fled the scene, triggering panic throughout the barracks as residents and fellow officers tried to come to terms with the horrifying development.

Witnesses report hearing gunshots ring out from Block D, followed by the sight of the suspect fleeing on foot. By the time emergency responders arrived, Arthur was already deceased.

The brutal killing has left the Uganda Police Force, the Naguru barracks community, and the broader public in shock. Many are questioning how a disagreement over such a small amount of money could lead to such irreversible loss.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement, but investigations are underway to apprehend the killer officer and determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting. Colleagues who knew Arthur have described him as calm, disciplined, and dedicated to duty traits that make his violent death even more difficult to process.

This incident has ignited urgent discussions about mental health, conflict resolution, and stress management within the police force. As the country waits for more details to emerge, one painful truth stands out: a promising life has been cut short, and a family is mourning all over a dispute that should never have ended in bloodshed.
