50 Million Robbery Stopped!! One Suspect Killed, Four Still at Large
On Monday, police in Kyotera district successfully prevented a major robbery at Mazima Bugaga Coffee Factory. Five armed men attacked the factory manager and stole 50 million Ugandan shillings before trying to escape.
Authorities responded quickly after getting a tip about the robbery. They pursued the suspects as they fled toward Masaka. The chase ended in Kizigo Village, where police intercepted the group. During the clash, one robber, identified as Ssenyuumu Lawrence, was shot and killed after resisting arrest. The other four managed to escape and remain at large.
Police recovered two guns believed to be used in the robbery, a motorcycle, and other key evidence. These items will assist ongoing investigations and could lead to the capture of the fleeing suspects.
The search for the escaped robbers is still active. Police have urged the public to stay calm and report any suspicious activity in nearby areas. The Uganda Police also praised their officers for their quick response and bravery in handling the dangerous situation.
