“Back Off or Be Forced Out!” NRM’s Singh Katongole Sends Fiery Warning to Bobi Wine

As Uganda prepares for another intense election season, political temperatures are already rising. Former Rubaga North Member of Parliament, Singh Parmindar Marwaha Katongole, has sparked heated debate with strong words aimed at the National Unity Platform (NUP) and its leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, better known as Bobi Wine.

Katongole, a seasoned politician and former Deputy Treasurer of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), didn’t hold back in his message. Speaking with passion and determination, he said the NRM is fully ready for the upcoming elections and warned the opposition to back off or face consequences.

> “This time NRM is not joking,” he said. “NUP will not get any votes in all elections. And if they don’t stop fighting us, we shall chase Bobi Wine out of Kampala.”

These bold statements have stirred concern among Ugandans, especially those who support NUP. Many fear that such threats could increase political tension and possibly lead to violence in Kampala, a city where NUP has grown very popular in recent years.

Katongole is no stranger to Kampala politics. Having served as MP for Rubaga North, he knows the political dynamics of the capital very well. His return to the spotlight suggests that NRM is now focusing heavily on reclaiming ground in Kampala, where opposition forces have gained massive support.

As both NRM and NUP begin to prepare for the campaign period, Katongole’s tough talk has sent a clear message: the ruling party is not ready to lose without a serious fight. However, political observers and peace advocates are urging leaders to avoid words that could cause fear or violence.

Ugandans are now watching closely. Will this election season be peaceful, or are we heading into another storm of political chaos?

Only time will tell.
