More Trouble For Don Chris!! Number Of Ugandans He Scammed Has Risen From 85 To 350
What started as a small case has now grown into one of the biggest job scams in Uganda. A man known as Don Chris, whose real name is Asiimwe Christian, is now being hunted by police after scamming over 350 Ugandans. Just a few weeks ago, the number of victims stood at 85, but it has now more than quadrupled, leaving hundreds of families in pain.
Don Chris ran a travel company called Skypins Tours and Travel, which promised people well-paying jobs abroad. He asked those interested to pay between 3.5 million and 10 million shillings, claiming it would cover travel and job processing fees. Many people, desperate for better opportunities, believed him. Some sold their land, others borrowed money or used up all their savings.
Sadly, the jobs never came. After collecting money from hundreds of people, Don Chris vanished, and his office in Kitende was left empty. Heartbroken and confused, victims started coming forward, and the true size of the scam was revealed.
Police say the total amount stolen is estimated to be about 1.75 billion Ugandan shillings. On June 17, 2025, police officially opened a case, and on July 10, they searched the company offices, finding documents that may help track down the suspect.
Don Chris is now a wanted man, and authorities are calling on the public to help locate him. They are also urging any other victims who have not yet reported their cases to come forward. The more victims that speak up, the stronger the case will be against him.
This scam has left many people devastated. It is a painful reminder of how scammers take advantage of the hopes and dreams of honest Ugandans. Many believed they were about to start new lives abroad. Instead, they were robbed of their money and left with nothing.
The police have promised to bring Don Chris to justice. But until then, let this serve as a warning: always investigate any company offering jobs abroad. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
The victims of Don Chris are still waiting for justice. And Uganda watches closely, hoping the man behind this cruel scam will soon be caught.
