The people of Kamuli District are in shock after the sudden and tragic death of their LC5 Chairman, Thomas Mugude. He died in a car crash that many say feels far too suspicious to be a coincidence. The accident happened early in the morning around 4:30am along the Njeru-Kayunga-Gayaza Road in Nakifuma, Mukono District. According to police reports, his vehicle hit a stationary Sino truck. Mugude died on the spot, and the wrecked car is now at Naggalama Police Station.

During a high-level meeting of NRM delegates and Busoga sub-region leaders gathered to support Speaker Rebecca Kadaga’s bid for a top party position Mugude publicly revealed that he had recently been poisoned. He said he was still receiving treatment for it. At the time, people were concerned. Now, that concern has turned into deep suspicion.
