KCCA’s Kampala Cycling Day!! A Monthly Ride for Change and Safety
Every last Friday of the month, Kampala’s streets come alive with the excitement of the KCCA Kampala Cycling Day. Starting from City Hall, cyclists from all walks of life gather for a 15-kilometre ride through the city. Today was no different, as we once again set off with energy, unity, and a shared goal: to promote safer roads, healthier lifestyles, and a more sustainable future.
Organized by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), this monthly event is more than just a group ride. It’s a strong statement in support of safe and inclusive streets for all. Too often, city roads are built mainly for cars, leaving little space for cyclists and pedestrians. KCCA’s cycling day helps raise awareness that everyone deserves safety on the road, whether on foot, on a bicycle, or in a car.
The event also promotes cycling as a clean and sustainable mode of transport. With more people choosing bicycles over cars, the city can enjoy less traffic, cleaner air, and a quieter environment. Cycling is also a fantastic way to stay healthy, reduce stress, and boost mental well-being. It’s an activity that’s good for both the body and the planet.
KCCA’s initiative welcomes everyone from seasoned cyclists to beginners. It’s a fun, social way to explore the city while supporting a positive cause. If you missed today’s ride, there’s no need to worry. The next KCCA Kampala Cycling Day is coming up next month, and you’re invited.
Let’s keep the wheels turning. Join KCCA and fellow cyclists in creating a safer, healthier, and more connected Kampala!
