Breaking!! NRM MPs Summoned to Important Meeting at State House Entebbe
Members of Parliament (MPs) from Uganda’s ruling party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), have been called to attend a very important meeting. This meeting will take place at State House Entebbe on Monday, May 19, 2025, starting at exactly 2:00 PM.
The announcement was made on Thursday, May 15, by the Government Chief Whip, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua. He said the meeting was not just a usual gathering—it is being held on the orders of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is also the NRM National Chairperson.
In a short but serious message, Hon. Obua said that every NRM MP must attend in person, with no exceptions.
“This is a directive from the NRM National Chairperson. All members must attend. The official notice will follow in due course,” he said.
Although the official program or agenda for the meeting has not been shared with the public, the way the message was delivered has caused a lot of interest and questions among politicians and citizens alike.
Some people think the meeting might be about important decisions that need to be made, or changes that are coming soon. Uganda is currently facing several political and economic issues, so many believe that the President wants to meet MPs to talk about how to handle them.
Political experts have different guesses. Some say the President may use this meeting to guide MPs on new laws, party discipline, or government plans. Others believe it could be about preparing for the next elections, or about reshuffling roles in the government or Parliament.
This is not the first time NRM MPs have been invited to State House, but this time feels more serious. The strong wording of the notice and the demand that everyone must be there in person suggests that something very important or sensitive might be discussed.
Meetings like this are often used by the President to make sure that all NRM MPs understand and support his plans. These caucus meetings are also meant to keep the party united and working together.
With all NRM MPs expected to attend, many people across the country will be waiting to hear what comes out of the meeting. What is discussed behind those closed doors could shape the future of Uganda’s politics.
