Museveni Hails UPDF’s Self-Sufficiency, Calls for More Development Initiatives

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has commended the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) for achieving self-sustainability, urging the army to engage in more development projects to boost the country’s growth.

This was during his visit to the UPDF’s industrial complex in Nakasongola. He expressed admiration for the army’s innovative efforts in manufacturing and production, noting that the force’s self-sufficiency is a testament to the country’s progress towards economic independence.

The President encouraged the UPDF to expand its development activities, emphasizing the importance of the army’s role in nation-building. He highlighted the need for the UPDF to contribute to Uganda’s economic growth, infrastructure development, and social transformation.

President Museveni also emphasized the significance of the UPDF’s industrial complex, which produces goods such as milk, bread, and building materials. He praised the army’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to innovation, citing these as key factors in achieving self-sustainability.

The President’s visit to the UPDF’s industrial complex underscores the government’s focus on promoting economic growth, self-reliance, and sustainable development.
