Entebbe International Airport Sees Significant Passenger Growth in March 2024
As the sun rose over the shores of Lake Victoria, Entebbe International Airport sprang to life. The month of March had been a busy one, with travelers flocking to Uganda from all corners of the globe. For Emily, a young airport manager, it was exhilarating to see the numbers swell.
In the arrivals lounge, families reunited with tears of joy, while business travelers rushed to grab their luggage and hurry to meetings. The airport’s staff moved efficiently, directing passengers through customs and immigration.
By the end of March, Emily’s team had handled an impressive 171,990 international passengers – 80,719 arrivals and 91,271 departures. That averaged out to 5,548 passengers per day, a significant increase from the previous year.

Emily beamed with pride as she compared the numbers to March 2023. “We’re up by 2,009 passengers per day,” she told her colleague, James. “That’s a remarkable growth!”
James nodded, “It’s not just the numbers, Emily. It’s the stories behind them. Families reuniting, tourists exploring our beautiful country, business partnerships forming… this airport is a gateway to endless possibilities.”
As the day drew to a close, Emily watched as the last flight of the evening took off into the night sky. She felt grateful to be part of this vibrant hub, connecting Uganda to the world, one passenger at a time.
The next morning, Emily and her team were ready to do it all again, welcoming the world to Entebbe International Airport, and all the opportunities that came with it.
