MP IDD ISABIRYE TAKES IT ALL
The Court of Appeal sitting in Kampala has dismissed with costs an election appeal that sought to dislodge Hajji Idd Isabirye from Parliament where he represents Bunya South.
The Court upheld the victory of NRM’s Hajji Isabirye Idd as the validly elected Member of Parliament for Bunya South in Mayuge district.
Three justices of the appellate court led by Richard Butera set aside the Jinja High Court decision that had nullified Idd Isabiryes victory on grounds that there was non compliance with the electoral laws.
Present today in Court were MPs ; Milton Muwuma, Solomon Silwany,Baroda Kayanga,James Kubeketerya,Andrew Ojok Oulanyah and Mary Nakato Annete. Others were Dr. Hamza Mbago, Sir Simon Muyanga Lutaaya,Mbentyo Meddy among others.
The Respondent Robert Ntende (Ind) was also present in Court accompanied by his legal team.
Idd Isabirye is also the chairperson of Busoga Parliamentary Caucus. The same court is set to deliver judgement in the election appeal against Milton Muwuma tomorow.
