Uganda CAA Supports Makerere Run to Empower Students with Disabilities

Over the weekend, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (@UgandaCAA) proudly joined other corporate organizations at Makerere University for the much-anticipated Makerere Run held at Freedom Square. The event brought together students, staff, and supporters in a spirited effort to raise funds for the University’s Disability Support Unit, an initiative aimed at enhancing facilities and resources for students with disabilities.

The Makerere Run is more than just a sporting event—it is a platform for promoting inclusivity, awareness, and community support for students who face daily challenges due to physical or learning disabilities. By participating in this event, Uganda CAA demonstrated its commitment not only to community engagement but also to fostering equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their circumstances.

Attendees at the event were treated to a lively atmosphere, with participants of all ages taking part in the run, while supporters cheered them on and contributed to the fundraising goals. The Authority’s involvement highlights the growing role of corporate organizations in supporting educational institutions and social causes, setting an example for other organizations to actively participate in initiatives that make a real difference.

The funds raised from #MakRun2025 will go directly toward equipping the Disability Support Unit with modern tools, assistive devices, and resources necessary to help students thrive academically and socially. Uganda CAA expressed pride in being part of this important cause and reaffirmed its ongoing support for initiatives that uplift communities and promote equality.

Through events like the Makerere Run, universities and corporations come together to build stronger, more inclusive communities, proving that sports and social responsibility can go hand in hand to create meaningful change.
