The Forum for Democratic Change President, Patrick Oboi  Amuriat has accused former Party President and founding member Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye his counterpart at the Katonga faction of selfishness, alleging that for over the years, he has been undermining the party structures and his colleagues as incompetent to push the party’s agenda without him, thus the split.

Amuriat made the accusations earlier today at their offices in Najjanankumbi during a press conference, where he addressed the media on their position over the Katonga Delegates Conference resolutions, to dissolve the party.

He said they’re standing firm and will not give in to their counterparts threatening resolutions at Katonga.

“All that is happening right now is because of the selfishness of our brother Besigye. He thinks that without him as leader of this party or any anti-government organization, the country and the entire world has no person that can serve well than him. This is where the problem is, under looking others and under minding them. My brother thinks that he should be the only one at the fore front of the struggle to redeem this country”, He said.

Amuriat added that as members of the FDC, they have been living with this fear for a long time, something they couldn’t allow to continue.

“He’s the kind of leader who hates political independence and objective reasoning, he wants to control people, and this is something we rejected. Besigye and his wife Byanyima harassed Gen. Mugisha Muntu and leveled all sorts of allegations against him. Even me, who succeeded Gen. Mugisha Muntu and Nandaala Mafabi, experienced the same. Ugandans can now see that all the accusations made by Dr. Besigye against us are false” He stated.

Amuriat also accused Besigye and colleagues at Katonga of corruption, alleging that they’re working for the NRM government and questioned their integrity and authenticity to form a new political party.

Meanwhile, the party has started working on the road map to participate in the next general elections at all levels.
