Vanished Justice!! Kizza Besigye’s Court File Mysteriously Disappears

Uganda’s justice system is facing serious questions after a key court file linked to opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye mysteriously went missing. The file, which also involves co-accused Obeid Lutale, was part of an ongoing court case. Its sudden disappearance has shocked many and raised fears of possible interference in the legal process.

According to a video shared by a well-known Ugandan journalist on the social media platform X, Emmanuel Baguma, the Deputy Head of the Criminal Division, is the main suspect in the case. The journalist claimed that Baguma quietly took the file and since then, no one has seen it again. Despite efforts to trace it, the file cannot be found in court records.

Lawyers trying to follow up on the issue say they have been met with silence, resistance, and even rude behavior. Some report that Baguma himself has acted aggressively when asked about the missing file. This has led many to suspect that the file was hidden on purpose—possibly to delay justice or protect certain people.

This missing file is not just another document. It plays a big role in the case and its loss has already affected the court proceedings. Legal experts and rights activists are now speaking out. They say that if such an important file can disappear without any explanation, then regular Ugandans may have little hope of ever getting justice. They also fear this could be a sign of deeper problems in Uganda’s judicial system.

Even more worrying is the silence from court authorities. As of now, there has been no official statement or confirmation that an investigation is happening. This silence is causing the public to lose trust in the system. People are asking—if court files can vanish like this, who is really in control of justice?

With public pressure growing, many are now calling for a full investigation. They want answers. Who took the file? Why? And will anyone be punished? Until these questions are answered, confidence in Uganda’s justice system will continue to weaken.
