During the meeting, delegates warmly welcomed Mr. Echodu and officially endorsed him for the Eastern Region Vice Chairperson seat—a key position in the NRM’s top leadership body, the Central Executive Committee (CEC).
This endorsement is a major boost to Mr. Echodu’s campaign as he continues to build support across the country. He is widely respected for his down-to-earth leadership style and commitment to community development. Many know him as a strong advocate for the youth, rural communities, and the underprivileged.
Local leaders at the event praised Mr. Echodu for his vision, honesty, and ability to connect with ordinary people. They highlighted his efforts in promoting youth programs, education, peace, and agriculture as reasons for their confidence in him.
“Calvin Echodu represents a new wave of leadership. He listens to people, works with them, and delivers results,” said Peter Pex Paak, Vice Chairperson of Kaabong District. “He knows what our region needs and has what it takes to represent us at the national level.”
Mr. Echodu used the opportunity to urge delegates to support NRM’s National Chairperson, President Yoweri Museveni, and all party flag bearers in the upcoming elections. He emphasized that unity within the party is important for continued development.
The meeting also allowed delegates to openly discuss challenges affecting the Karamoja region. Mr. Echodu encouraged NRM structures to stay focused and united, promising to be a reliable bridge between the region and the central leadership of the party.
As Mr. Echodu continues his tour, his message is gaining traction. With strong endorsements like the one from Kaabong and Karenga, he is quickly becoming a leading contender—listening to the people and committing to serve them better.
