Entebbe International Airport continues to show impressive growth in passenger traffic, with June 2025 recording a total of 213,217 international passengers. This number includes 106,583 arrivals and 106,634 departures, marking a daily average of about 7,107 travelers passing through the airport.
This strong performance builds on the positive momentum seen in the previous month. In May 2025, the airport handled 198,052 international passengers, with 97,568 arriving and 100,484 departing. That worked out to a daily average of 6,388 travelers, meaning June saw a noticeable increase of over 1,000 additional passengers each day.
Several key factors have helped drive this growth. The return of Ugandans from Hijja (pilgrimage to Mecca), the expansion of Uganda Airlines’ flight routes, and the continued operation of strong regional flight connections have all played a major role in attracting more passengers.
In addition to passenger traffic, cargo movement at the airport also remained steady. In June 2025, a total of 6,293 metric tonnes of cargo was handled. This included 4,332 metric tonnes of exports and 1,961 metric tonnes of imports. These figures show the airport’s importance not only for travelers but also for supporting trade and business across the region.
Overall, the performance in June shows that confidence in air travel through Entebbe remains high. As more routes open up and airline services expand, the airport is expected to continue growing and serving as a vital gateway for Uganda and the region.
