Teachers at Takaramiam Primary School in Awaliwal, Gweri, are soon going to have a reason to smile. The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, recently laid the foundation stone for a new teachers’ house at the school. This marks the beginning of a very important project, one that promises to bring comfort and dignity to the dedicated teachers who have been working under very difficult conditions.
The new house is being built with support from the area’s Member of Parliament, Hon. Herbert Ariko. His commitment to education and community development is clearly shown through this project. Once the house is completed, teachers at the school will finally have proper accommodation. This is a big change from the current situation, where some teachers have been sleeping in classrooms due to lack of housing. Others have had to travel long distances every day just to reach the school and teach the children.
This project is not just about building a house—it’s about recognizing the important role teachers play in shaping the future. By giving them a decent place to stay, the leaders are showing respect and support for their hard work. It also means that teachers will be able to focus more on their job without the stress of poor living conditions or tiring journeys.
The people of Gweri are hopeful that this is just the beginning of many good things to come. With leaders like Hon. Ariko and Speaker Anita Among standing with them, there is great promise for a better future in education and beyond.
