Breaking News!! Ambassador Kabonero’s Son Dies After Mysterious Injury

The family of Ambassador Richard Kabonero and his wife Grace is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of their 25-year-old son, Robert “Bobby” Kabonero, who died on Friday, May 9, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
Bobby passed away from complications following a self-inflicted wound he sustained on May 3, 2025, at the family home in Luzira. The family was celebrating the birthday of his uncle, well-known businessman Bob Kabonero, having just returned from a trip to Dubai for the same occasion.
What began as a joyful family gathering quickly turned into a nightmare. That evening, Bobby suffered a critical injury that left everyone in shock. He was rushed to International Hospital Kampala (IHK) for emergency care and later airlifted to Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi for more specialized treatment.
Although Bobby was discharged from the hospital, his condition remained fragile. His family had started arranging for further treatment in the United States, hopeful that he could receive the care he needed. Tragically, he passed away before that could happen.
Bobby was an intelligent, thoughtful, and promising young man. Born and raised in the United States, he had recently returned to Uganda after completing his university studies. He graduated at the top of his class with a degree in Economics and was admired for both his academic excellence and warm personality.
His death has sent shockwaves through the Ugandan community, and many have expressed their sadness and offered support to the Kabonero family. As they grieve this painful loss, the family has requested privacy and prayers during this difficult time.
