The President says in his address to the Nation on Friday, he will speak to how we can deal with floods, landslides, and other problems Uganda is currently facing.
The President also assures the displaced persons that Government, through the Prime Minister’s Office, would assist them in all ways possible.
Each of the families will receive UGX 5m for every victim, to help in burial arrangements, totaling to Shs 115m

President Museveni describes the occurrence as regrettable, but says it is partly caused by failure of people to take his advice on the issue of protecting the environment.
President Yoweri Museveni has contributed Ugx 5m as condolence for each of the flood victims in Mbale. The money will be delivered by the Minister for the Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda.
23 people have been confirmed dead following heavy rains in the area.
