Cat and Mouse chase; Kadaga skips Musumba’s petition

Kamuli born FDC strong woman Proscovia Salaam Musumba has failed to reach her rival for the Kamuli District Woman MP seat also Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga almost a month since she launched the search.

Musumba filed an election challenging Kadaga’s victory in the January 14 general elections and is required to serve the petition on Kadaga.

Musumba’s lawyers are however in court crying foul after a thousand attempts to reach the Speaker have failed.

Counsel John Isabirye is asking court to grant orders for substituted service for Kadaga through newspapers since efforts to reach her home, office or any of the people close to her and authorized to act on her behalf have failed.

Sml news has learnt that the Speaker on hearing that a petition had been filed against her aides at all places under her charge not to receive any deliveries that maybe suspicious.

Kadaga is also heavily guarded as a Speaker hence complicated to reach by lawyers.

Kadaga has publicly spoken about Musumba’s petition as a mafia ploy to frustrate her speakership bid in a succession battle linked to the Museveni Presidency.

She claimed a 70,000 vote difference between her and Musumba is sounding enough to send any election loser to rest unless the petitioner is being influenced by mightier forces.

In the petition Musumba cites massive ballot stuffing supervised by Police, the military and Speaker’s security detail.

She also intimidation of her agents and voter bribery among other ills.
