Veteran Journalist and former Baba TV presenter Bassajja Mivule has said the struggle to liberate this country by the National Unity Platform(NUP)/People Power Movement is non existent.
According to Mivule this new wave stands without agenda, no knowledge of fiscal policy and with evil motives supported by the homosexuality world and other foreign backers who don’t want Uganda to be a strong and prosperous nation.
He made the remarks at a press conference held in Kampala today to officially declare his support to President Yoweri Museveni in the forthcoming general elections.
Mivule says the decision to support his longtime nemisis was taken due to lack of a better option after his former president Dr. Kiza Besigye decided to quite vying for presidency in the 2021 polls.
“This shift in subscription from FDC’s Kiiza Besigye comes with disblief in the new waves like NUP who want every Ugandan to be part of them by force. I Basajja Mivule refuse that and ask of every Ugandan to join me” he said
Mivule condemned people power supporters whom he said are characterised by use of vulgar language, drug addicts and homosexuals which he said is evident on how they abuse on social media platforms.
“I want to stretch that NUP lacks competence in this field, with no fundamental structures! How then will they run Uganda? ” Wondered Mivule.
He said Ugandans need not to trust this country with the incompetent if they want to see the country stable again with continued development, unity, prosperity for all, stability for people and all political ideology tolerance.
Mivule says politicians who are jumping onto this wave are only doing so to regain their seats after the 2021 elections and are not in any way fighting for liberation of this nation.
“Now this message goes to hooligans who want to throw shade at my choices. I will not be intimidated by the weak that think by making noise will shut me up, the false allegations made against me recently will not deter me” said Mivule.
He refuted allegations that his decision has been influenced by money and other material gains from president Museveni as claimed by People power supporters noting no amount of Money can buy him.
Bassajja Mivule was last month arrested from Baba TV (his former workplace) for promoting sectarianism and spent three days in police cells before he was released. He would later issue an apologize to all the offended parties.
While welcoming Mivule, events promoter and National Resistance Movement supporter Balaam Barugahara revealed that more opposition figures are set to be unveiled as the ruling party supporters very soon.
