The Electoral Commission will today the 31st of August 2020 conduct Polling for Persons with Disabilities Committees (PWDS) at the Parish Level.
The PWDs Executive Committee members who were elected at the village level about two weeks ago will participate in today’s exercise in all parishes across the country where the elections were contested.
Paul Bukenya the Electoral Commission spokesperson said during nomination, some of these positions were returned unopposed.
“We shall be conducting the elections in the same mode of voters linning behind the candidates of their choice as we enforce guidelines against the spread of COVID-19 which include observing social distancing, wearing of face masks and washing of hands among others” said Bukenya.
Meanwhile the EC says polling for Parish Youth Committees will be conducted this Wednesday the 2nd of September 2020.
Also, the Commission is set to conduct consultative meetings with district administration to confirm administrative units that constitute counties, city divisions and municipalities starting today 31st August 2020 to 4th September 2020 (demarcation of parliamentary constituencies).
