Sad news hit hard today while supporters were seated in court, waiting for the bail application of opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye. During this tense moment, word came through that Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga had passed away — and tears quickly followed.
Dr. Garuga was more than just a name. He was a strong voice in Uganda’s fight for democracy. He mentored many, supported countless causes, and gave generously to help build a better future for the country. To many, he was not only a hero but also a father figure, a founder, and a financial backbone in the struggle for justice.
Supporters in court, already anxious about Dr. Besigye’s case, were shaken by the news. “We’re waiting for Besigye’s bail, but now our hearts are crushed,” one person said. “We’ve lost a truly great man.”
