Minister Balaam Barugahara has issued a strong condemnation of the violent assault on presidential advisor Jennifer Nakangubi, popularly known as Full Figure. In a statement shared on his media pages, Balaam described the attack as unacceptable and called on the perpetrators to hand themselves over to the police without delay.
A close ally of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Balaam began by expressing gratitude to the medical team treating Full Figure, who sustained serious injuries in the attack. He described the incident as “unfortunate” and emphasized that such brutality should have no place in a nation that values law and order.
“To those who participated in the brutal act of beating and robbing her, I strongly urge you to surrender at the CPS and record a statement today. We cannot allow cruelty and lawlessness to take over our society,” Balaam stated firmly.
The minister stressed that violence is never an acceptable way to resolve disputes. He reminded Ugandans that justice must be sought through lawful and peaceful means, warning that such acts of brutality harm the country’s image and must be condemned by everyone.
Balaam also addressed Full Figure, urging her to refrain from using vulgar or abusive language, which has sometimes led to public criticism. “We should always strive to be humble and respectful toward one another. Vulgar language should be condemned in all circumstances,” he said.
In a rare move, Balaam offered an apology on her behalf to anyone who may have been offended by her past statements. “I extend apologies on behalf of Madam Jennifer Figure to all individuals who may have been abused or harassed through her communication previously,” he added.
The statement has since attracted widespread attention, with many Ugandans praising his call for peace, while others view it as a reminder for Full Figure to moderate her language. As investigations continue, the public now awaits to see whether the attackers will respond to Balaam’s call and surrender to police.
