This morning, staff from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), led by the Executive Director and the Chief Statistician of Uganda, joined Rotaractors and members of the public at the Rotary #CancerRunUg25. The event, flagged off at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, brought together thousands of participants committed to raising awareness and supporting the fight against cancer.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the UBOS Executive Director provided 1,000 kits for staff and supporters, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to giving back to the community. Through this effort, UBOS sought to strengthen community ties, support important causes, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of Ugandans.

This year’s run was a spectacular success, drawing more than 60,000 runners who took part in 5km, 10km, and 21km races. Proceeds from the event will go toward completing the one-stop cancer centre at Nsambya Hospital. Organizers emphasized that every step taken in the race helps move Uganda closer to saving lives, offering hope for patients and families affected by cancer.

The Rotary #CancerRunUg25 continues to inspire communities across the country, uniting diverse groups in the fight against cancer. UBOS’ active participation not only highlights its dedication to social responsibility but also encourages others to take part in initiatives that create positive change and save lives.
