Swift Justice!! Police Arrest 18 Over Violent Robbery During NRM Primaries

A violent robbery that took place during the NRM parliamentary primary elections in Nsambya has led to the arrest of 18 suspects. This breakthrough came through the quick response of Kabalagala Police, supported by other security agencies.

The incident happened on 17th July 2025, when a group of criminals openly attacked and robbed innocent people in broad daylight. A shocking video of the chaos quickly spread on social media, causing fear and public outrage. Police investigators at Kabalagala reviewed the footage and began identifying those involved.

That same day, police rushed to the scene and arrested eight suspects. The investigation continued, and with the help of CCTV footage and information from those arrested, the police launched a follow-up operation on 20th July to capture more suspects.

This second operation led to the arrest of ten more individuals. The newly arrested suspects are: Were Phillip, Lubwama Sharif, Wasike Patrick, Ngobi Brian, Mugisha Shafiq, Rashid Sebisaba, Ochwo Emmanuel, Kakooza Abdul Rakim, Ominga Brian, and Katongole Meddy, also known as Baros. This brings the total number of arrests to 18.

According to police spokesperson ASP Owoyesigyire Luke, all the suspects confessed to taking part in the robbery and assault. They have been charged with Simple Robbery and will be brought before the courts of law.

Police also revealed that more suspects are still at large, and efforts are underway to track them down. The public is encouraged to share any information that could help in the ongoing investigation.

This case highlights the importance of rapid police response, use of surveillance technology, and public cooperation. It sends a strong message that criminal acts—especially those targeting innocent civilians—will not go unpunished.
