Today, Thursday 19th June 2025, the Electoral Commission is holding polling for the Village Youth Committees across the country. The voting will take place from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This is a very important day, especially for young people, as it marks the third and final election for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) at the village level under the 2025/2026 General Elections Roadmap.
All youth aged 18 to 30 who are listed on the SIGs Youth Register are encouraged to turn up and vote in their home villages. This is a great opportunity for the youth to choose leaders who will represent their voices and help bring development to their communities. Your vote matters, and your choice can make a difference.
The Electoral Commission reminds everyone to stay peaceful, be respectful, and follow all election guidelines during the polling. A peaceful and fair election helps build trust and unity in the community. This is not just about choosing leaders—it is also about showing that young people can take part in building a better future for Uganda.
So, if you are a registered youth voter, go out and cast your vote today. Be proud to take part in shaping the leadership of your village. Your voice, your choice, your power!
