Big Changes Coming to Entebbe Airport!! UCAA and Immigration Officials Meet to Improve Services

On May 8, 2025, a very important meeting took place at Entebbe International Airport. Officials from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) and the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control came together to talk about how to improve the airport. The meeting was held right at the airport, and it was all about making things better for passengers and travelers in the near future.
Mr. Emmanuel Barungi, the General Manager of Entebbe International Airport, led the team from UCAA. He was joined by Major General Apollo Kasita Gowa, the Director of Citizenship and Immigration Control, along with his team. The main focus of their meeting was to discuss the ongoing upgrade works that are taking place at the airport.
These upgrades are not just small changes. They are part of a big project to modernize the airport and improve the services offered to travelers. The goal is to make Entebbe International Airport a more comfortable, efficient, and welcoming place for everyone who uses it—whether they are coming into Uganda or leaving the country.
After the meeting, the officials took time to tour and inspect the upgrade works happening around the airport. This inspection was important because it allowed them to see the progress being made and to suggest improvements where necessary. They looked at the construction work, new equipment being installed, and changes being made to make the airport more user-friendly.
These changes are part of a larger effort to improve not only the appearance of the airport but also how it functions. Long lines at immigration, delays at baggage claim, and other common travel frustrations are being addressed through these upgrades. The teams believe that once the works are completed, passengers will enjoy a smoother and more pleasant experience.
Meetings like this one show how serious the Ugandan government is about improving its services and keeping up with international standards. The partnership between UCAA and the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control is a strong one, and both parties are committed to making travel to and from Uganda better for everyone.
As the upgrades continue, travelers passing through Entebbe International Airport can look forward to a fresh, improved environment. More announcements about the changes and new services will likely come soon. For now, it’s clear that big things are happening at Uganda’s main airport—and it’s all to serve you better.
