On October 21, 2024, Rajiv Ruparelia, the Managing Director of Ruparelia Group, was named among Africa’s top 100 young leaders in the Choiseul 100 Africa 2024 list. He was the only Ugandan to make it onto this respected list, which highlights young leaders under the age of 40 who are making a big impact on Africa’s economy.
This achievement was a proud moment not just for Rajiv but also for his father, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, who is the founder and chairman of the Ruparelia Group. Dr. Sudhir expressed how proud he was of his son, saying Rajiv’s hard work, vision, and commitment to excellence have helped the group grow and gain respect both in Uganda and beyond.
Rajiv is not just a businessman, he’s a forward-thinking leader who cares about people and the environment. Under his leadership, the Ruparelia Group has grown stronger in different industries such as real estate, hospitality, education, and finance.
Some of the major projects led by Rajiv include the Kampala Kingdom Mall, which focuses on eco-friendly building, and the upgrade of Speke Resort Munyonyo, now known as one of the top spots in Uganda for hosting international events.
But Rajiv’s work doesn’t stop in the office. Through the Ruparelia Foundation, he supports many community programs. For example, the foundation has provided scholarships to young talents like rapper Felista Di Superstar, and donated important supplies to children in Mulago Hospital and the Home of Hope in Jinja.
Outside of business and charity, Rajiv is also active in rally driving. He’s not just racing for fun, he uses rally events to connect with local communities and raise awareness for good causes.
Through everything he does whether it’s building businesses, helping people, or racing cars Rajiv Ruparelia shows a strong commitment to making life better for others and helping Uganda grow in a sustainable way.
