Stakeholders in the civil aviation industry are all smiles over new passenger readings released by the Civil Aviation Authority yesterday.According to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, January 2025 saw the second-highest ever recorded traffic at Entebbe International Airport of 216,740 passengers.
This is a progressive trend when compared to the preceding December record of 222,317 passengers. EThe UCAA statistics show a steady increase in both passenger and cargo traffic.This is also an increase from 194,563 passengers as at January 2024, with an average of at least 6,991 travelers passing through Entebbe airport airline daily.
UCAA spokesperson Vianney Luggya attributes the growth of the airline to more factors than one among which is tourism, major international conferences hosted in Uganda and general increase in overall airline activity.
Vianney further elaborated on the African Union Extraordinary #CAADPKampala25 Summit, which pulled 977 delegates from across the globe.
