Police in Kagadi are searching for unidentified thieves who stole three keys belonging to Centenary Bank’s Kagadi branch. The keys were stolen from the home of Tom Luswata, a bank officer, during a break-in on Wednesday night in Namilyango Cell, Kagadi Town Council.
The thieves also took Luswata’s shoes and jacket. He discovered the theft on Thursday morning and reported it to his manager, Johnson Galimaka, who then informed the police.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson, said, “Detectives responded quickly and found the bank secure, with no signs of forced entry.”
Hakiza suggested the thieves may have targeted Luswata because of his role at the bank. The theft caused disruptions as management struggled to access the bank.
