Advancing Uganda’s ICT agenda; Uganda to Host Inaugural National ICT Summit 2024.

The Minister of State for National Guidance Hon Godfrey Bakulu Kabbyanga has unveiled preparations by government to host the Inaugural National ICT Summit 2024, which will bring together key stake holders from the ICT sector to discuss and advance economic Competitiveness through Strategic and Sustainable Digital Transformation.

The summit is schedule for October 23- 24 at the Kampala Serena Hotel. It will mark the 10-year anniversary of ICT Association of Uganda (ICTAU), which has been a driving force in Uganda’s ICT sector over the past decade.

According to Hon Kabbyanga, the ICT Association of Uganda (ICTAU) has been instrumental in fostering innovation, advocacy for policy changes and promoting digital transformation in the country.

“The summit reflects the ongoing commitment of ICTAU to advancing ICT agenda and beyond ” he noted.

The event will serve as a natural and collaborative platform for government officials, policymakers industry leaders, innovators and digital enthusiasts to explore how digital technologies can drive economic growth and national development.

The summit also aims to address critical issues such as cyber security and infrastructure development which aligns to the Digital Transformation Roadmap for Uganda ( 2023-2027) and the East African Community Regional Digital Strategy ( 2024-2030).

Ugandans in the ICT sector have been urged to bring on board their expertise and collaborate in shaping the future of Uganda’s digital landscape to ensure that the digital transformation agenda remains inclusive and impactful.
