Don’t Bring Us Forged Documents- NRM Warns Aspiring Candidates

Aspiring National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates for parliamentary and district chairperson seats from Kampala and Central region have been cautioned against forgery as their nominations kick off tomorrow.


According to Dr. Tanga Odoi the Party’s Electoral Comission Chairperson, the exercise which started five days ago has seen a number of aspiring candidates from the West, East and Northern regions dully nominated.


While speaking to Journalists at the party headquarters in Kampala today, Odoi warned all aspiring candidates from Kampala and Central region against presenting forged academic documents saying those who will do so will be disqualified. 

He revealed that two cases of forgery have been registered from Eastern region.


“I want to call upon central and Kampala aspirants not to bring Nasser road documents here because those documents will cause us problems. If you know you dont qualify, come and we tell you the position where the qualifications are not required. If you dont qualify dont forge documents because we shall get you” warned Odoi


Meanwhile, the NRM Electoral Commission boss has asked the aspirants not to come in convoys which would disrupt the exercise.


“Come with only photocopies of the national IDs of a nominator and a seconder we shall handle you very well and you go back in peace” noted Odoi


He added “dont bring holigans, if you bring holigans, police will handle them head on.Dont carry your supporters. We have had a very peaceful exercise please dont disrupt it on the last day.


Nominations of candidates for parliamentary and district Chairperson seats in NRM primaries from Kampala and central region will be done in two days.
