Entebbe Airport Facilitation Committee Charts Path for Improved Passenger Experience

The National Air Transport Facilitation Committee, led by Commissioner Transport Regulation Mr. Winstone Katushabe, held a productive meeting at Entebbe International Airport on June 6, 2024, to discuss ways to enhance the passenger experience. The committee’s primary goal is to facilitate the seamless movement of passengers and cargo through airports, in compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

During the meeting, Mr. Katushabe congratulated the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority Board, Management, staff, and industry stakeholders for successfully concluding the ICAO Safety and Security Audits ¹. The committee inspected various facilities at the airport, including the departure area, arrivals, airside, and other facilities, to identify areas for improvement.

The National Air Transport Facilitation Committee comprises stakeholders from the Ministry of Works and Transport, the Private Sector Foundation, Immigration, Uganda Communications Commission, Uganda Export Promotion Board, Ministry of Health, Air Operators Committee members (Airlines), handling companies, Customs, Security Agencies, and other stakeholders operating at the airport.

Their efforts aim to ensure Entebbe International Airport provides exceptional services, adhering to ICAO’s Annex 9 requirements.
