Government officials and friends are gathered at the home of fallen State Minister Sarah Kamateeka in Nsanji-Wakiso District, to commemorate with her family.
Mateeka who was also the Kisoro District Woman Member of Parliament, passed away yesterday at Me go Hospital. She succumbed to heart complications.
Her body is still at the Morgue at Mulago Hospital.
Meanwhile, Parliament has released an official funeral program.
Monday September9,2024
• At 3:00pm, the body will arrive at her home.
• At 5:00pm, there will be Requiem Mass.
• Vigil at night.
Tuesday September 10, 2024
•At 8:00am, there will be Requiem Mass at All Saints Cathedral, Nakasero.
•At 12:00pm, the body arrives at Parliament for a special sitting.
•At 4:00pm, the body returns to her home in Nsanji for night vigil.
Wednesday September 11, 2024
•At 9:00am, the body departs for Kisoro.
•At 6:00pm, there will be Requiem Mass.
Thursday September 12, 2024
•At 10:00am, there will be Requiem Mass at Nyakabingo.
•At 2:00pm, she will be laid to rest.
The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among is expected to arrive at her home any time.
