Mo Ibrahim Criticizes Museveni & Son Muhoozi’s Way Of Conduct

Sudanese-British billionaire and philanthropist Sir Mo Ibrahim has openly criticized Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and his son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for failing to respect democracy and human rights.

Speaking at the 2025 Ibrahim Governance Weekend in Marrakesh, Morocco, Sir Mo gave a passionate speech that caught attention across Africa. He accused the Ugandan government of using violence against political opponents and silencing dissent. He said the Ugandan people are being denied their basic rights and freedoms.

Sir Mo also called out Gen Muhoozi for using social media to boast about human rights violations. “This is not leadership,” he said. “It is shameful and dangerous.” He urged African leaders not to ignore such actions but to hold each other accountable.

During the event, Sir Mo invited Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine to speak. Wine described alleged abductions, torture, and killings by government forces. His emotional testimony moved many in the audience.

Sir Mo’s message was clear: Uganda needs change. He called on President Museveni to take responsibility for the situation. “Africa cannot progress if we allow leaders to abuse power,” he said.

His words received praise for their honesty and bravery, adding to growing calls for justice, accountability, and better leadership in Uganda and across the continent.
