Musevenomics Complicating Presidential Race for Opposition
On September 10,2024 i published here my views on Musevenomics and the 2026 elections warning that it would headline the 2026 general elections.
My readers replied with mixed feelings first, it did not seem serious given that few people read, many in NRM and opposition alike have not paid attention to the concept, the opposition is completely out of touch with economics.
The NRM and President Yoweri Museveni have made these presidential campaigns very heavy for the opposition.
Museveni is running his first ever evidenced – based campaign hence sending his opponents in disarray. Save for the FDC and Nandala Mafabi, the rest have either feared or faulted in discussing the country’s economic future.
Nandala suggests, for example, a student’s fund for graduates and PDM lower to villages. Beautiful ideas I must say because they’re alternatives. They can be debated and developed. It is obvious that Museveni is aware that we must bring PDM to the villages given the results of the pilot phases.
In all his social economic programs, Museveni has never been tough like with PDM.The arrests, vigilance of RDCs, wide media campaigns, his daily warnings have scared all the thieves. The list of testimonies is long and those waiting for the opportunity are many. No doubt PDM and Operation Wealth Creation have become household names in communities.
This explains the uproar to NUP’s candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi’s threat to scrap PDM. It is the worst of all the political statements he has made and a sign that he is out of touch with the people’s economic needs. Campaigns here have always been characterized with empty political statements and slogans. No more, we have seen goats, cows, crops, plantations, poultry farms among others, they’re real, the owners are known and can be visited to confirm their testimonies.
Mr. Kyagulanyi doesn’t know how many people have so far benefited from PDM nor those waiting. Kyagulanyi’s former “buddy” as he says is General Salim Saleh, the Coordinator of OWC and proponent of Musevenomics. It’s clear Saleh did a disservice to his friend; he never shared economic lessons.
I believe it’s Salim Saleh who has for the last 4years been on OWC and PDM who has loaded this campaign. Museveni has shown videos on public rallies and testimonies of transformed people in OWC and PDM or is it photoshop!
Mr.Museveni and his NUP rival Robert Kyagulanyi are running in two worlds apart[/caption]
The evidence – loaded campaign has helped M7 avoid responding to any opponent’s political emptiness. Museveni is talking money, wealth and opportunities widening the net to include everyone. It’s not “..agenda or agyagenda.. It’s not ‘tugende ntebe muntebe …. not a “mwana bboyi”. Voters are demanding for opportunities.
Mr. Kyagulanyi and the others never follow when these programmes are being introduced, and passed in parliament where NUP has MPs. PDM has been too much at the grassroots, parishes. NUP has many councilors there, some have tested PDM themselves. I think the NRM manifesto team was spot on, money, wealth and opportunities.
The rhetoric of Ebyaffe, stories of stealing and grabbing land aren’t selling any more. The poor people are selling their own land hence sparking family feuds.
Kingdoms are quiet on Ebyaiffe, Ebyaife,Ebyeitu because majority have received them including Buganda. Too heavy a race, speaking only economics, no more slogan nearing …Let Bobi Wine return to General Salim Saleh just for hours for lessons on the country’s social-economic transformation.
I sat with him in 2024, and I predicted, this campaign will be driven by Musevenomics, it has come to pass.
It’s Salim Saleh who betrayed Bobi, he hid the secret of money making. It’s not late …
