Mukono Police Division has launched investigations into a deadly road crash that claimed three lives on the night of August 16, 2025. The accident occurred at around 9:40 PM near Nkokonjeru Center along the Kisoga–Nkokonjeru Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that a bus, registration number UAL 770L, was traveling from Kisoga towards Nkokonjeru when it first collided with a parked Canter truck, registration number UAG 723G, that was stationed facing the Nkokonjeru side. The impact caused the bus to lose control, veering into the path of an oncoming Toyota Sienta, registration number UBK 901Z, resulting in a devastating head-on crash.
Three passengers died instantly in the collision. The deceased were identified as Olaki Samson, a passenger in the bus, and Nasali Emily together with Carol, both of whom were traveling in the Toyota Sienta. Their bodies were later transported to Kawolo Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
According to police, the tragic incident was triggered by an obstacle on the road that set off the series of collisions. Officers visited the scene, documented the evidence, drew a sketch plan, and had the wrecked vehicles towed to the Kisoga police yard for further examination.
The drivers involved in the crash fled the scene and remain at large. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP P. Onyango confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are underway to track down the suspects and determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident.
