Uganda’s Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, is in the news after shocking reports claimed she was punched in the face during a heated political fight in Bugangaizi East Constituency. The incident reportedly happened last Thursday during the NRM party parliamentary primaries.

The scuffle is said to have involved Mr. Onesmus Twinamatsiko, who eventually won the tightly contested race. According to sources, trouble started when Prime Minister Nabbanja tried to step in during the announcement of results, which led to confusion and tension. In the middle of the chaos, she was allegedly assaulted.

However, at the time of this reported incident, Prime Minister Nabbanja was actually in New York, attending the United Nations General Assembly meeting. This has left many people confused and questioning the exact details of what happened.

Despite her being abroad, her team in Kampala confirmed that there was indeed a confrontation. They insisted that Nabbanja was physically attacked during the scuffle, though they did not give full details. The news has caused an emotional reaction from the public and political leaders, many of whom were shocked by the idea that such a thing could happen to a high-ranking government official.

So far, security agencies have not given an official statement, but reports suggest that investigations have already started. People across the country are asking how such violence could happen at a party election and what it means for the safety of leaders and the future of political contests.

Ugandans are now waiting to hear from Prime Minister Nabbanja herself, as many hope she will clear the air and speak on what really happened. For now, the incident has raised serious concerns about security, party discipline, and the growing tension in local politics.
