The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the general public that the official Display Exercise of the National Voters Register has been successfully concluded.
This critical exercise, which took place across all parishes and wards in the country, aimed to provide registered voters an opportunity to verify and confirm their details in the register ahead of upcoming electoral activities. We thank all citizens, political parties, civil society organizations, and the media for their active participation and support throughout the display period.
Following this conclusion, the Commission has now commenced the Display of Lists of Persons Recommended for Removal from the National Voters Register, in accordance with Section 25 of the Electoral Commission Act.
This new phase, running from 16th to 26th May 2025, is intended to give the public an opportunity to review names proposed for removal due to reasons such as:
Deceased persons
Multiple registrations
Underage voters
Non-citizens
Persons proven to be ineligible
All Ugandans are urged to check the lists at their respective Parish/Ward Headquarters during this period. If your name, or that of someone you know, appears on the list and you believe it has been wrongly included, you are encouraged to immediately raise an official objection with the Display Officer at your display center.
This process is essential in ensuring a clean, accurate, and credible National Voters Register. The Electoral Commission remains committed to transparency and inclusivity in all electoral activities.
Let us all play our part in strengthening Uganda’s democracy.
