Vivo Energy Uganda has concluded its ‘Simbula ne Rimula R3X’ campaign—an initiative that not only revolutionized the way local drivers view engine maintenance but also set the stage for an unprecedented level of success within the nation’s commercial transport sector.
The campaign, which ran throughout October 2024, captivated the hearts of thousands, delivering life-changing prizes and solidifying Shell Rimula R3X as the engine oil of choice for heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
The grand prize? A spectacular, jaw-dropping reward that left two lucky winners speechless: two brand-new Mitsubishi Canter trucks. These gleaming, high-performance vehicles—valued at a combined sum that could change the trajectory of any small business—were handed over to winners in a historic grand finale, marking a thrilling climax to months of anticipation. One fortunate winner hailed from the bustling Shell Katwe station, while the other, in a twist of fate, emerged from a reseller outlet in Mbarara.
This campaign was not just about winning big; it was about transforming businesses, improving lives, and offering a golden opportunity for Uganda’s commercial transport drivers. From the beginning, customers were showered with an array of weekly rewards ranging from full fuel tanks, airtime, branded merchandise, and Shell Coolant—each prize designed to make their daily operations smoother and more profitable. All customers had to do was purchase Shell Rimula R3X and service their vehicles at Shell stations nationwide.
Joanita Menya Mukasa, the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda, could not hide her enthusiasm about the campaign’s success, stating,“This is more than just a promotional initiative; it’s a vital step in ensuring that our customers are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly changing environment. With the new UNBS recommendations, we are proud to offer a lubricant that not only meets those stringent standards but also delivers superior engine protection and improved fuel economy,” she stated.
Shell Rimula R3X, the star of the campaign, is engineered to handle the toughest of conditions. Designed to offer triple protection against wear and tear, it extends engine life while improving fuel economy. The result? Less downtime, fewer repairs, and ultimately, more money in the pockets of the hardworking taxi drivers, truckers, and self-employed drivers who form the backbone of Uganda’s economy. As Joanita emphasized, “Shell Rimula R3X ensures engines run stronger for longer, leading to greater efficiency and, consequently, increased earnings for our commercial transport customers.”
Rebecca Nassiwa, the Lubricants Brand Manager at Vivo Energy Uganda, was equally thrilled with the campaign’s results. “We’ve impacted over 5,000 customers, with more than 3,000 of them winning instant prizes! The feedback we’ve received has been nothing short of amazing—Shell Rimula R3X is helping drivers across Uganda save on maintenance costs and keep their vehicles running smoothly longer. It’s been a game-changer for the entire transport industry,” she remarked, her voice full of pride and excitement.
Meanwhile, Francis Kayoki, the Lubricants Sales Manager, noted the broader impact of the campaign on the Ugandan transport ecosystem. “This isn’t just about giving away prizes; it’s about empowering the people who drive Uganda’s economy forward. We’ve provided them with a product that enhances their operations and enables them to elevate their businesses to new heights. The two grand prize winners, in particular, now have the tools they need to grow their businesses in ways they never thought possible.”
The success of the ‘Simbula ne Rimula R3X’ campaign has firmly cemented Shell Rimula R3X as the engine oil of choice for Uganda’s transport sector. No longer just an essential lubricant, it’s a symbol of resilience and a game-changing ally for drivers navigating Uganda’s challenging roads.
