The Met Office has updated its severe weather warning for parts of the UK, cautioning residents to brace for heavy rainfall. Initially, an amber warning was issued this morning covering major cities including Worcester, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Hull, but the agency has since revised its advice as conditions worsen.

Forecasters predict rainfall between 60mm and 80mm (2.36in and 3.15in) in many areas, with some locations potentially receiving as much as 120mm (4.72in). The warning has heightened concerns about localized flooding and travel disruptions in the affected regions.

The Met Office has urged residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant, as the intense downpour could cause hazardous conditions.
