Police Arrest Five Suspects in Murder of Sheema Retired Educationist.

Police have arrested five suspects linked to the murder of Nyehangane Godfrey Tabandama, a 72-year-old retired teacher, in Nyamiyaga Cell, Kakunyu Ward, Kabwohe Division. The incident occurred during the night of September 18-19, 2024.

Sheema District Police Commander Moses Kituuma confirmed the arrests, identifying the suspects as Magezi Victor (22), Turyasingura Stuart (20), both herdsmen, and Kato Stephen (17), a student who worked at the deceased’s home.

Following leads from the initial arrests, police later apprehended Hanning Byesiza and Godious Nuwagaba in Kyabugimbi and Kyamuhunga. Investigations into the motive continue as authorities work to ensure justice for the deceased.

Police calls upon for any further information from the public to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
