In a tragic turn of events in Kasese district, two young sisters, Catherine Kabugho, 10, and Caroline Mbambu, 8, have died under suspicious circumstances after eating food provided by their stepfather. The girls were rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese town on Friday, where they passed away shortly after admission.
Initial investigations suggest that the children experienced severe stomach upsets after consuming chapattis prepared by their stepfather, Hajji Abdu Kasita. Kasita, a well-known herbalist in the community, is now under scrutiny as police delve into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Saluti B chairperson Janet Mbambu revealed that preliminary reports indicate the food was given to the girls by Kasita, raising concerns about possible foul play.
