People who previously suffered blood clots and those with underlying conditions like cancer, diabetes should not hesitate to be vaccinated due to the risk they face, medical experts have warned. 

A study, published in the British Medical Journal, threw panic across the medical world. The study looked for complications up to 28 days after being jabbed or infected.

It found that for every 10 million people vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine an extra 107 would be hospitalized or die from complications that cause internal bleeding and haemorrhages.

It further revealed an extra 66 would be hospitalized or die from blood clots in the veins.

Research also examined the Pfizer vaccine. For every 10 million people vaccinated with Pfizer extra strokes reveal.

Dr Henry Ddungu a haematology consultant at the Uganda Cancer Institute in Kampala, observes the presence of the risk but maintains its containable

Ddungu says the minimal risks should not be presented as an excuse to disregard the exercise.

Doctor Henry Ddungu admits that different types of covid19 vaccines have been associated with the formation of abnormal clots but the risk is so small.

The Dr. advises the public to always report abnormal symptoms after vaccination.

The concerns and subsequent public reluctance follow previous unconfirmed risks traded from sources and public citing indicators such as altering menstruation cycle by women, and dysfunction in men among others.

The government continues mass vaccination exercises, targeting specific groups. 

Currently, teachers in the Kampala metropolitan area are undergoing tests before they are rolled out countrywide.
