Kira Division Police are investigating a fire outbreak that happened today at around 6am at Uganda Martyr’s SS Namugongo in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services responded at the scene and the fire was later put out.
Owoyesigyire says it has been established that the fire started from a two storied building which was a dormitory for senior two and senior three students.
“A lot of property including student’s suitcases and matresses that were left inside the domitory were destroyed. There were no students at the time” he said
Owoyesigyire notes that Kira Division Police is still investigating to ascertain what exactly caused the fire adding that samples have been picked and exhibited.
