Musician Edrisah Musuza better known as Eddy Kenzo has clarified that he has nothing against the National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine at a news conference held today.
This follows a leaked audio that made rounds on social media in which the singer accuses Bobi Wine of among other things being selfish, greedy and having no leadership qualities.
The audio has since fuelled anger among Kyagulanyi’s supporters who are now demanding an apology from Kenzo.
While addressing press at Fairway Hotel today, the BET award winner said he feels sorry that the private conversation leaked to the public.
He says people should understand that in the audio, he was having a private phone conversation with a person he believed was a friend and not an interview for public consumption.
“I was hurt that the audio leaked to the public because it exposes my brother’s weakness. Just like any other person I was pouring out my frustration about a friend to a friend after failing to talk to him” said Kenzo
He added “I have nothing against Bobi Wine, I do love and respect him as a brother, a friend and a president. I agree with him on some issues but I also don’t agree with him on others” clarified Kenzo
The “sitya loss” hitmaker asked all those who were disappointed with whatever he said to advise him instead of attacking him which he said doesn’t take this country anywhere.
Kenzo yesterday returned to his home after completion of the two weeks mandatory quarantine as one of the measures put in place by government to prevent the importation of COVID-19.
Kenzo who was stranded in Ivory Cost due to closure of Entebbe International Airport in March this year disclosed that life in Ivory Coast wasn’t easy as he spent nearly 200M shillings to sustain himself in the West African country.
He used the press conference to thank all those who supported him especially the government of Uganda and Uganda Airlines which made his return possible.
