Just In!! Businessman Gunned Down In Kitagobwa Armed Robbery

A shocking event unfolded on the night of August 13, 2025, along Nangabo Road in Kitagobwa, leaving residents terrified. Around 10:00 p.m., a group of masked men posing as customers stormed a local business, demanding money from the owner and employees. In the ensuing struggle, 51-year-old businessman Bwanika Deo was tragically shot and killed, while one of the workers, Julius, was wounded in the leg while trying to intervene.

The six attackers, armed with guns and pangas, quickly seized an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing the scene on two motorcycles. Their violent and sudden actions left the business and its staff traumatized. Police arrived promptly, secured the area, collected witness statements, and transported Deo’s body to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

Kasangati Police Division has launched a full investigation into the robbery and murder. Officers are working tirelessly to track down the suspects, though no arrests have been made yet. The incident has sparked fears about safety in the area and highlighted the risks faced by small business owners and their employees.
