Katikkiro Mayiga Welcomes Uganda Law Society President Isaac Ssemakadde

In a significant move toward strengthening ties between the Buganda Kingdom and the legal fraternity, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga met with newly elected Uganda Law Society (ULS) President Isaac Ssemakadde. The meeting took place during the inauguration of the Buganda Youth Council’s new Executive Committee under the Nkobazambogo National Association.

Announcing the encounter via his official X platform, Mayiga expressed optimism about future collaboration, particularly in areas concerning justice and human rights.

“Today, I had the honor of hosting Isaac Ssemakadde, the newly elected ULS President, as he joined the Buganda Youth Council at the inauguration of the Nkobazambogo Executive Committee,” Mayiga wrote.

He further emphasized the critical role the legal profession plays in Uganda’s development and highlighted Ssemakadde’s commitment to working with Buganda Kingdom to uphold the rule of law.

“Ssemakadde pledged to collaborate with the Kingdom in promoting human rights across the country. The rule of law is essential for Uganda’s progress, and the integrity of our legal institutions must be preserved,” Mayiga added.

This development signals a strategic partnership aimed at promoting legal reforms and ensuring that human rights are prioritized nationwide.
