NUP President Kyagulanyi Announces Resumption of Nationwide Tours.

By Amos Ssemuwemba

The National Unity Platform (NUP) president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, has vowed to resume the party’s countrywide tours next month despite past government restrictions.

“We are resuming our countrywide tour whether on crutches or not. We are coming to you wherever you are,” Kyagulanyi stated.

The tours, initially launched after the 2021 elections, were aimed at mobilizing grassroots support. However, they were halted in due to government-imposed restrictions, citing security concerns and breaches of public order laws. Authorities often blocked NUP’s gatherings, citing public safety and the enforcement of the Public Order Management Act.

Kyagulanyi’s announcement signals the party’s renewed commitment to reaching supporters across the country, despite anticipated resistance from security forces.
